Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Spanish Speaking Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including but not limited to criminal and family law. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a commitment to providing exceptional support in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by conducting legal research and drafting necessary documents.
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation using document management systems.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.
- Review and summarize legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Prepare filings for court submissions and ensure compliance with procedural rules.
- Support attorneys in various practice areas such as criminal law, family law and immigration matters.
- Utilize legal research tools such as FindLaw, LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather pertinent case law and statutes.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
- Assist in project management tasks related to ongoing litigation
Skills
- Spanish fluency/native speakers
- Strong paralegal experience with knowledge of litigation processes and legal case management.
- Proficient in using MyCase, Clio, or similar legal software for document management.
- Excellent writing skills for legal drafting, proofreading, and transcription tasks.
- Solid research abilities to conduct thorough legal research on various topics.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in administrative roles within a law office setting is preferred.
