Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in language instruction and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves teaching Spanish language and culture to students of various ages, developing engaging curriculum, and utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, including technology integration, to engage students in learning Spanish.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, assignments, and informal assessments.
- Provide tutoring and mentoring support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Maintain classroom management and behavior management strategies to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design initiatives.
- Engage in academic advising and support students in their educational journeys.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
Experience
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably with classroom experience in teaching Spanish.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse learners.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education methodologies.
- Knowledge of higher education teaching principles and experience in private school settings is a plus.
- Background in linguistics or related fields is advantageous; familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style is beneficial for writing-related tasks.
- Experience in special education or Montessori methods is desirable but not required.
