Camp Hours
Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Teachers may be scheduled for morning shifts, afternoon shifts, or full-day assignments depending on enrollment and staffing needs.
Potential for Continued Employment
High-performing teachers may be invited to continue teaching during Cultural Bytes’ Fall Language Academy programs.
About Cultural Bytes
Cultural Bytes is a culture-first language education organization serving schools and families throughout Southern California. Through games, movement, crafts, stories, music, and cultural experiences, we help children learn languages in a meaningful and memorable way.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic native Spanish speakers who are passionate about sharing their language and culture with children ages 5-8 in a full Spanish immersion summer camp environment.
Who We’re Looking For

- Recent graduates in Bilingual Education, Education, Child Development, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or related fields
- College students pursuing careers in education or working with children
- Behavioral therapists, instructional aides, and paraprofessionals
- Camp counselors and youth program leaders
- Individuals seeking a rewarding career transition into education
Responsibilities
- Lead children in a Spanish immersion setting
- Facilitate games, songs, crafts, cultural activities, and hands-on projects
- Create a positive, energetic, and safe learning environment
- Support student engagement and age-appropriate classroom management
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and Cultural Bytes staff
- Serve as a positive ambassador of Spanish language and culture
Qualifications
Required
- Native fluency in Spanish
- Experience working with children ages 4–12
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation
- Access to a smartphone and internet
- Ability to pass a background check and Live Scan fingerprinting
Preferred
- Degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Speech Pathology, or related fields
- Experience teaching or tutoring in Spanish
- Experience in camps, after-school programs, or language immersion settings
- CPR certification
- Bilingual Spanish-English skills
Required Before Employment Is Confirmed
All selected candidates must provide:
- Three professional work references
- Valid Driver’s License or government-issued identification
- Social Security documentation for employment verification
- CPR Certification
- Virtus Certification (required because camp is held on a Catholic school campus; scheduling assistance available if needed)
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Successful background check
