The College Preparatory School, an independent high school in Oakland, California, seeks a temporary full-time Spanish teacher. This position involves teaching 4 sections of about 16 students in each (levels 2 and 3). The goals of the Spanish program are to create full-immersion classrooms where students learn the language through activities designed to practice the different modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational) and to promote cultural competence. Our Spanish and other World Language teachers work closely with one another, honing and reshaping curriculum, assessments, and assignments.

Faculty at College Prep are compensated according to a step scale based on years of experience that ranges from $72,500 for teachers with no prior relevant experience to $143,700 for teachers with 44 years of prior experience.
Temporary hires are not eligible for benefits.
