Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students to support their academic and behavioral growth. Facilitate ARD meetings, track IEP goals, serve as a liaison between parents and staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local policies. Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress in the general curriculum and adherence to attendance and disciplinary expectations.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local special education guidelines
Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of the ARD process and IEP goal setting/implementation
Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
A minimum of two years teaching special education
