EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to work on our school campus in Stoneham, MA, for the upcoming 2025-26 school year.

Schedule: Monday – Friday | Standard School Hours
Hourly Rate: $35 – $50/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Credential Required: Ma Sped Certification
Duties
- Design and deliver tailored lesson plans aligned with IEP goals, incorporating curriculum development and learning technology tools.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and monitor progress to adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Provide speech therapy, behavioral therapy, or physical education as needed, collaborating with specialists to enhance student outcomes.
- Support early intervention efforts and work with children from preschool through early childhood education settings.
- Implement literacy education, math instruction, and other core subjects suitable for students’ developmental levels.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain an organized learning space conducive to active engagement.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, challenges, and success stories.
- Integrate childhood development principles and Montessori or other specialized educational approaches into daily instruction.
- Assist in the development of transition plans for students moving between educational levels or into post-secondary settings.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in special education settings is required.
- Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with early childhood education frameworks such as preschool experience or toddler care enhances suitability for this role.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams are essential.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing learning technology tools will support success in this position.
