Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

Ø Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and parents (SLT & OT) to create an IEP for each student

Ø Write and present IEPs as well as quarterly progress reports

Ø Provide instruction in a small group setup and a one-to-one staff to student ratio

Ø Continuously track and assess students’ IEP progress; seek support from the supervisor in a timely manner when assistance is needed

Ø Implement ABA principles when teaching IEP goals and when managing challenging behavior

Ø Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA

Ø Maintain regular communication with parents through IEP meetings, communication logs and phone contact, where necessary.

Ø Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings

Ø Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment

Ø Train classroom teacher assistants to ensure an optimal learning environment is achieved for all students

Qualifications:

Ø Minimum Bachelors degree in SPECIAL EDUCATION, Degree should be attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ø Equivalency certificate

Ø ABA experience is preferred
