Teacher Openings – Certified and Non-Certified

Better Life Academy is hiring caring, flexible, and dependable teachers to support students in small classroom settings. We are seeking both certified teachers and non-certified teachers who have experience working with students with special learning, behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs.

Teachers will provide instruction, classroom structure, academic support, and behavior support for students in K–12 grade groups. This is a great opportunity for educators who are passionate about helping students succeed in a supportive, low-ratio classroom environment.

Available Positions

We are currently hiring for multiple teacher roles, including:

  • Certified Teachers
  • Non-Certified Teachers
  • Elementary Grade Teachers
  • Middle School Grade Teachers
  • High School Grade Teachers

Openings may be available in both Leesburg and Sumter County.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide instruction to students in a small classroom setting with a low student-to-teacher ratio.
  • Support students in K–12 grade groups with special learning, behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs.
  • Create and implement lesson plans based on student needs and classroom goals.
  • Provide academic instruction, classroom structure, and individualized support.
  • Oversee and collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, behavior technicians, or support staff.
  • Implement intervention strategies as directed by leadership, clinical staff, or a Behavior Analyst.
  • Collect data on student progress, skill acquisition, and behavior reduction goals as needed.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents, students, coworkers, and support staff.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with families and team members.
  • Assist with planning and participating in field trips, school activities, and classroom events.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support classroom behavior management using appropriate strategies and guidance.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

QualificationsCertified Teacher Applicants

Certified teacher applicants should meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Exceptional Student Education, Special Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Current or eligible Florida teaching certification preferred.
  • Experience working with students with special learning or behavioral needs preferred.

Non-Certified Teacher Applicants

Non-certified teacher applicants should meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, preferred.
  • Experience working with children or students with special learning, behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs.
  • Classroom, childcare, behavior support, tutoring, paraprofessional, or education-related experience preferred.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have at least one of the following:

  • A minimum of 1 year providing instruction in a classroom setting.
  • Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral needs.
  • Experience in special education, ESE, behavior support, ABA, tutoring, childcare, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting students in elementary, middle school, or high school grade groups.

  • Dependability, organization, and a positive attitude.

Work Environment

Teachers work in a structured classroom environment designed to support students who benefit from smaller class sizes, individualized attention, and consistent behavior support. Classrooms may include paraprofessionals, behavior technicians, and other support staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
