Special Education SETSS Teacher (Grades 9–12)

Location: Bronx, NY 10462 | Type: Contract, Part-Time | Compensation: $375 – $425 per day

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and NYS-certified Special Education (SETSS) Teacher to join our instructional team in the Bronx. This role is designed for an educator who excels in high-school level Math and ELA and is passionate about providing targeted, small-group interventions that close achievement gaps.

As a SETSS provider, you will serve as a critical bridge for students in grades 9–12, delivering the personalized support necessary for their academic and post-secondary success.

Key Responsibilities:

Targeted Instruction: Deliver high-quality, in-person ELA and Math instruction through one-on-one and small-group SETSS sessions.

Curriculum Adaptation: Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and New York State standards.

Progress Monitoring: Maintain rigorous records of student attendance and draft comprehensive monthly progress reports to track growth and inform instructional pivots.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and sustain professional, supportive relationships with students, families, and school staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Environment Management: Foster a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment conducive to the unique needs of diverse learners.

Professional Requirements:

NYS Certification: Valid New York State Certification in Special Education / Students with Disabilities (Initial, Permanent, K–12, Transitional B, or Literacy).

DOE Independence: Candidates must not be currently employed by the NYC Department of Education, nor have been employed by the DOE within the last 12 months.

Experience: Proven track record of success in small-group instruction and classroom management within a secondary school setting.

Compliance: Current fingerprint clearance and a commitment to all health and safety protocols.

Schedule & Compensation:

Daily Rate: $375 – $425 (commensurate with experience).

Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:15 AM – 2:00 PM (Ideal for educators seeking work-life balance).
