What You'll Do

• Provide attentive, compassionate care for a child with special needs in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment
• Build a trusting relationship while supporting the child's emotional, social, developmental, and behavioral needs
• Plan and implement engaging activities that encourage learning, skill development, independence, and confidence
• Follow established care plans, therapeutic recommendations, and family routines as needed
• Assist with daily living tasks, meal preparation, transportation to appointments or activities, and homework support
• Monitor and respond appropriately to the child's unique needs, behaviors, and communication style
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with parents regarding progress, achievements, concerns, and daily activities
• Help establish and reinforce routines, structure, and positive behavioral strategies that align with the family's goals and values
• Collaborate with parents, therapists, educators, and other professionals when appropriate to support the child's overall development
• Provide reliable, flexible support while adapting to changing family schedules and care needs

Requirements

• At least three years of professional childcare experience
• At least two years of professional experience with special needs children
• Must be 18 years or older
• CPR & SIDS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Willing to complete background checks, social media screening, and driving record verification (we cover all costs)
• Reliable transportation suitable for safely driving children
• Valid Drivers License
• Comfortable around pets (cats and dogs)
• No additional children allowed on the job
