Position Summary:

The Special Projects (SP) Electrical Foreman/Journeyman Electrician is responsible for leading electrical service and Special Projects work in the field while serving as the technical authority for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs. Special Projects electrical work commonly supports HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment

replacements, tenant improvements, and owner-direct improvement scopes requiring coordinated execution with other trades. This role requires expert-level understanding of electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and blueprints, along with the ability to lead crews, work safely around energized electrical systems, and execute high-quality installations.

Lead electricians coordinate installation workflow, ensure strict adherence to awarded project scope, and maintain compliance with NEC, local codes, and Mission Mechanical installation standards. This role has an associated expectation of mentoring less-experienced electricians and contributing electrical expertise to other Mission Mechanical technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical installation and service work for Special Projects including equipment replacements, tenant improvements, and mechanical support scopes.
  • Install conduit, wiring, disconnects, panels, breakers, transformers, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Provide electrical connections for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment; including RTUs, split systems, pumps, boilers, exhaust fans, refrigeration systems, and equipment as required.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, control schematics, submittals, and specifications.
  • Perform accurate electrical layout, conduit routing, and installation planning.
  • Install and terminate line voltage and low-voltage wiring including motor controls,
  • BAS interfaces, control wiring, and VFD connections.
  • Perform equipment shutdown, make-safe, disconnect/re-termination work, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures in accordance with electrical safety standards.
  • Verify electrical installations meet NEC, local code requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and professional jobsite conditions.
  • Assist with field quoting for approved change orders when conditions differ from the original awarded scope.
  • Perform material takeoffs and assist with procurement as requested by supervisors.
  • Create or support purchase order requests for electrical materials and equipment.
  • Follow Mission Mechanical Special Projects processes and procedures outlined in the Service Binder and project playbook.
  • Proficient in ServiceTitan including time tracking, job notes, uploading photos, vendor quotes, equipment entry, startup sheets, and closeout documentation.
  • Mentor less-experienced electricians by providing training in installation techniques, safety practices, and code requirements.
  • Lead installation crews, assign tasks, manage job sequencing, and ensure project completion in alignment with project plans and safety standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical License required (or in process where applicable).
  • Ability to properly install breakers, wire, conduit, panels, switchgear, transformers, and disconnects.
  • Strong understanding of line voltage systems (120V–480V) and low-voltage systems including controls, communications, and BAS interfaces.
  • Knowledge of motor controls, starters, VFDs, and control wiring systems.
  • Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment in energized panels.
  • Programming and configuration experience with applicable electrical controls and devices.
  • Capable of leading crews, assigning tasks, and maintaining productivity and morale.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Required to possess reasonable trade-specific tools.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl, climb, and perform prolonged physical activity.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds independently, or more with proper assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Ability to use hands for fine manipulation of tools, wiring, and components.
  • Ability to reach overhead and work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and panels.
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately for identifying wiring and circuits.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in electrical work
  • Safety Requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment including gloves, safety glasses, and arc-flash protection
  • Compliance with OSHA, electrical code (NEC), lock-out/tag-out procedures, and
  • Mission Mechanical. safety standards, including proper shutdown, make-safe, disconnect, and energized safety practices.
  • Strict adherence to company safety policies and job site PPE requirements is required.
  • Work Environment
  • Comfortable working around energized electrical systems and open panels while following all required safety protocols.
  • Field-based work across residential, commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying extreme facility and weather conditions.
  • Maintain situational awareness when working in occupied facilities, active construction sites, and multi-trade jobsite environments.
  • Daily use of mobile devices for job documentation, communication, and time tracking.
  • Ability to operate mobile devices to read, enter, and communicate information in field conditions and respond to calls, messages, and alerts throughout the workday.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
