Specialist Orthodontist

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose, prevent, and treat dental and facial irregularities and malocclusions.
• Analyze diagnostic records, including X-rays, clinical photographs, and plaster models of teeth, to develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.
• Fit, adjust, and maintain orthodontic appliances such as fixed braces, removable braces, clear aligners (e.g., Invisalign), and retainers to guide teeth and jaws into proper positions.
• Monitor patient progress through regular check-up appointments and make necessary adjustments to appliances.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, ongoing orthodontic care, and proper oral hygiene methods.
• Collaborate with general dentists, oral surgeons, and other dental specialists to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized patient records and progress notes.
• Adhere to strict infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS, DDS, or DMD) followed by a Master's degree or equivalent specialization in Orthodontics from an accredited institution.
• Licensing: Must possess a valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license or an eligibility letter to practice as a Specialist Orthodontist in Abu Dhabi.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience is required. Prior experience in the UAE is preferred.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of the latest orthodontic techniques and digital orthodontics.
• Proficiency with orthodontic appliances, 3D imaging, and treatment planning software.
• Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and reassuring "bedside manner" for patients of all ages.
• Ability to work calmly and confidently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
