Clinical Duties
- Diagnose and treat periodontal diseases and oral inflammation.
- Perform non-surgical periodontal therapy including scaling and root planing.
- Conduct advanced surgical periodontal procedures such as:
- Flap surgery
- Gingivectomy and gingivoplasty
- Bone grafting
- Guided tissue regeneration
- Crown lengthening
- Soft tissue grafts
- Place and manage dental implants where licensed and authorized.
- Evaluate radiographs, CBCT scans, and periodontal charts for accurate diagnosis.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Manage periodontal maintenance and follow-up care.
Patient Care
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, gum disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
- Explain treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain excellent patient communication and comfort during procedures.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained before treatments.
Collaboration & Administration
- Work closely with general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, and oral surgeons.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and clinical documentation.
- Follow infection control protocols and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in case discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
- Mentor junior dental staff or hygienists when required.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to local healthcare authority regulations and licensing standards.
- Ensure compliance with sterilization and radiation safety procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to healthcare privacy laws.
