Clinical Duties

  • Diagnose and treat periodontal diseases and oral inflammation.
  • Perform non-surgical periodontal therapy including scaling and root planing.
  • Conduct advanced surgical periodontal procedures such as:
  • Flap surgery
  • Gingivectomy and gingivoplasty
  • Bone grafting
  • Guided tissue regeneration
  • Crown lengthening
  • Soft tissue grafts
  • Place and manage dental implants where licensed and authorized.
  • Evaluate radiographs, CBCT scans, and periodontal charts for accurate diagnosis.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Manage periodontal maintenance and follow-up care.

Patient Care

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, gum disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
  • Explain treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain excellent patient communication and comfort during procedures.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained before treatments.

Collaboration & Administration

  • Work closely with general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, and oral surgeons.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Follow infection control protocols and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in case discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
  • Mentor junior dental staff or hygienists when required.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to local healthcare authority regulations and licensing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with sterilization and radiation safety procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality according to healthcare privacy laws.
