About the Opportunity

Step into a pivotal role within the pharmacy service at Liverpool Hospital as a Specialist Pharmacist - Cancer Services, located in our state of the art new building. As a key member of our dedicated cancer services team, you will play an integral role in optimising patient outcomes through expert pharmaceutical care. You will be responsible for delivering advanced medication therapy management, providing patient education and support, and actively participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. Working closely with oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals, you will help ensure the highest standards of care.

What You'll be Doing

Provision of a wide range of Pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients of the hospital, including dispensing, distribution and manufacturing services as well as clinical services. Promotion of both safety and quality as key aspects of drug therapy. Participation in quality improvement and professional development, as well contribution to education and supervision of other staff and students.

Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub specialty services across the hospital.   • Full Pharmacist registration with AHPRA with no restrictions to the scope of practice.
  • Please describe a complex patient case you have managed that involved cancer pharmacotherapy. In your response, explain the clinical context and your role within the multidisciplinary team. Detail the therapeutic decisions you contributed to, how you ensured the safe and effective use of medicines, and any challenges you encountered during the process. We are particularly interested in how your expertise influenced patient outcomes and how you navigated clinical complexities.
  • Cancer services require ongoing innovation and strong collaboration across disciplines. Please describe an initiative or project you have led or contributed to that aimed to improve cancer pharmacy services. In your response, outline how you worked with other stakeholders such as oncologists, nurses, or patients, and explain the impact of the initiative. We would also like to understand what you learned from the experience and how it has shaped your approach to service development.
