Specialist Psychiatrist - Government Healthcare Facility

We are seeking a highly qualified Specialist Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team. In this pivotal role, you will provide specialized psychiatric care to individuals facing a range of mental health challenges.

As a Specialist Psychiatrist in a government healthcare facility, your focus will be on delivering compassionate and evidence-based treatment while ensuring the highest standards of care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans and support patients in their recovery journey.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients referred to the facility.
  • Diagnose mental health disorders and develop personalized treatment plans based on best clinical practices.
  • Administer and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring responses and side effects closely.
  • Engage in individual and group therapy sessions to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate care and resources.
  • Document patient progress and treatment interventions accurately in electronic health records.
  • Participate in training and mentorship for less experienced staff and interns.
  • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric care, including new therapies and medications.
  • Uphold ethical standards and legal guidelines governing mental health practice.



Requirements

  • Board eligibility or certification in psychiatry is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a government or community health setting is a plus.
  • Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating various psychiatric conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
  • Team-oriented mindset, collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong ethical commitment to patient care and advocacy for mental health issues.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
