The Mission
We don’t just provide after-school care; we build Pueblo’s future workforce. We are looking for a high-energy, initiative-driven professional to lead our Workforce Development Initiative (WDI). This isn't a "supervisory" role—it is a Career Architect role. You will be the bridge between our teens' potential and their professional reality.
What You Will Accomplish (Annual Targets)
We believe in measurable impact. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Building the Pipeline: Mentoring a cohort of teen members through career-readiness programming.
- Skill Acquisition: Facilitating certifications for youth.
- Real-World Experience: Securing and managing internships/externships with local Pueblo business partners.
- Event Leadership: Planning and executing career-related community events (Job Fairs/Workplace Tours).
- The Bottom Line: Ensuring 100% of your active teens stay on track to graduate high school and 20% of teens 16+ secure external employment.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous successful candidates in this role have been "Door Openers"—people who aren't afraid to cold-call a local business owner to pitch an internship while also being able to command a room of 20 teenagers.
- You are a Motivator: You can turn "I don't know" into a resume and a career plan.
- You are a Networker: You will actively scout and maintain relationships with local corporate and educational partners.
- You are Resilient: You thrive in "busy and noisy" environments and can manage teen behavior with consistency and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Delivery: Lead BGCA curricula including Career Launch, Junior Staff, and Money Matters.
- Individual Coaching: Provide one-on-one guidance on resume writing, mock interviews, and personal branding.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain precise records of attendance and program milestones (100% data integrity).
- Safety First: Maintain a safe, positive environment at all times, adhering to BGCPC’s strict safety standards.
- Member Transport: Safely operate Club vehicles to provide essential access to schools, job sites, and field trips. You maintain a "Safety-First" environment by enforcing strict passenger discipline and conducting 100% accurate vehicle inspections to ensure every journey is secure and compliant.
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Age: Must be 21+ (required for driving the Club van).
- Possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License with little or no violations.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years working with youth (ages 13-18 preferred) in a leadership or educational capacity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, or Psychology preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- Physicality: Ability to be on your feet for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Clearance: Must pass a comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening.

Application Question(s):
- A teenager's path from high school to the workforce is often shaped by a single mentor who 'gets' them. Looking back at your own education, professional journey, and personal life experiences, what is the most valuable 'real-world' lesson you possess that you feel uniquely qualifies you to guide Pueblo’s teens? How will you translate your specific background into a program that makes them feel capable of succeeding in a professional environment?
