Specimen Processor

US BioTek, a growing laboratory in Shoreline, has an immediate opportunity to join our Specimen Processing team. We are seeking full-time candidates to work in our clinical testing facility. This role requires strong keyboarding/data entry skills and a high level of attention to detail. Lab experience is preferred but not required.

Duties include:

• Perform laboratory specimen processing consisting of receiving, identifying, assigning accession numbers, sorting, preparation and internal laboratory distributing of blood, urine, and feces specimens.
• Verify accuracy of client and specimen details; Identify and resolve problems with specimen types, missing information, etc.
• Enter laboratory-specific requests on time and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Follow up on activities in the Lab Information System (LIS).
• Work with clients to obtain clarification for specimen and label requisition errors to ensure timely patient care and support.
• Effectively respond via phone regarding client inquires and specimen issues (specimen requirements, test procedures and analysis, and timing).

Requirements:

• Recent data entry work experience required; prior accessioning experience a plus.
• Able to handle biological materials.
• Able to sit and use the computer for an extended period of time and perform a variety of duties with a sense of urgency & emphasis on detail.
• Able to work independently and organize work to meet established deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Regular and predictable attendance

Shift: 8-hour rotational schedule between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm, including Saturdays.

US BioTek acquired Real Time Labs, a world leader in Mycotoxin testing, in March 2024.

Pay: $20/hour - $26/hour, DOE
