Speech Language Pathologist - August 2026 Start Dates, CFs Welcome!

Our speech language pathologists (SLPs) live and work all around Chicagoland, including northern, western, and southern suburbs. While our own physical clinic is located in Lombard, we bring services to communities across Chicagoland, working at other nonprofit partner locations and schools in the city, suburbs, and in Rockford via teletherapy. We have a growing EI practice, which we work to make as SLP-friendly and sustainable as possible.

All of our full-time speech language pathologists are salaried and health benefits eligible as of day one on the job, and fully compensated regardless of cancellations. During the summer, our speech language pathologists have the opportunity to provide specialized programming onsite at nonprofit community partner locations all around the Chicago area.

CHAT (Communication Health, Advocacy, & Therapy)

WHO WE ARE:

For 47 years, CHAT has changed lives of children with few--if any--other options. Centered in social justice, CHAT provides life-changing speech therapy at our clinic, in schools, through EI, and via collaborations with other community nonprofits.

We embrace neurodiversity-affirming practices, and our speech language pathologists tailor services specifically to individuals' needs, building on their strengths while prioritizing rapport. We won't talk to you about your productivity -- we'll talk to you about how you are feeling and support you to grow as a clinician.

Our team members are united by their passion for serving the underserved. CHAT speech language pathologists approach their work with deep cultural humility, and understand the need for systemic change in healthcare and education so that the individuals we serve can be more sustainably supported. This understanding underlies CHAT’s work in what we call “Communication Justice,” which involves effecting change for under-resourced and underrepresented people whose circumstances create barriers to access and whose communication disorders and differences contribute to their inequitable treatment.

Our team members are as compassionate, collaborative, and dedicated to change as they are talented. We look for clinicians who are motivated by our mission and who demonstrate our four culture cornerstones: Collaborate with Grace; Always Compassionate; Powered by Passion; and Ever Adaptive.
