Sports Tutor Burton upon Trent (FE College) £22.50 - £28.50 Per Hour Temporary (3rd Nov - 19th Dec) Potential for Extension

An outstanding FE College is seeking an enthusiastic Sports Tutor to join its dynamic Sports and Public Services team. You'll deliver high-quality teaching across Sport programmes (Levels 1-3), focusing mainly on sports coaching, with some delivery of research methods and fitness training units. You'll support learners in achieving their qualifications and developing the practical and theoretical skills needed for success in the sports industry.

Contract Details

  • Duration: Monday 3rd November - Friday 19th December
  • Hours: 18 hours per week
  • Timetable:
    • Monday: 9.00am - 4.30pm
    • Tuesday: 1.15pm - 4.30pm
    • Thursday: 9.00am - 4.30pm
    • Friday: 1.15pm - 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons and practical sessions across Levels 1-3.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in sports coaching, fitness training, and research methods.
  • Support learners in achieving their sport qualifications and personal goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress.
  • Prepare students for assessments and practical evaluations.
  • Organise and oversee sports sessions, enrichment activities, and applied projects.
  • Stay up to date with current industry practices, qualification standards, and coaching developments.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for teaching and learning in sport and physical education.
  • Relevant qualification in Sport, Coaching, Exercise Science, or a related field (minimum Level 3).
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience teaching or coaching young people in FE/HE is desirable but not essential.
  • Organised, flexible, and dedicated to student success and wellbeing.
