Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems across various construction and manufacturing sites. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding techniques, along with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. The Sprinkler Technician will ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and ASME codes, contributing to the safety and efficiency of fire protection systems.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
- NFPA Inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine installation procedures
- Perform welding using MIG, FCAW, TIG, and other techniques suitable for pipe fitting and assembly
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment to accurately assemble piping systems
- Bending tubes and pipes to specifications using appropriate tools such as tube benders
- Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation and compliance with codes such as ASME standards
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate installation activities and rigging operations
- Troubleshoot system issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure safety protocols are followed
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting or related construction site experience
- NJ DCA Sprinkler technician certification
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, soldering, and general welding techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping, HVAC systems, and pipeline installation
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and use measuring tools like calipers
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to sprinkler systems and piping installations
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, tube bending tools, and rigging operations
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during installation processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing or construction environments is preferred
- Ability to work safely on construction sites while adhering to safety regulations and protocols
