Position Name: SQA Audio Engineer

We are building technologies and platforms for the next generation consumer electronics products; top semiconductor companies are our customers.
From consumer electronics to hyperscalers to communications and automotive, chips used across all these domains contain platform software or device driver code written by Vayavyalabs.
Responsibilities:

Understanding how all elements of the system software ecosystem work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy.

Responsible for the development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses.

Providing test infrastructure to enable engineering teams to test and own the quality of the services.

Being a stakeholder of the release to ensure that defects are fixed per SLA and the end customer experience is protected and improved

Development and execution of test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics.

Coordinating with the offshore Quality Service team on test execution and sign-off
Must-Have Technical Skills:
-
Testing audio codecs (lossy & lossless) on different hardware.
-
IoT/VoIP audio experience/certification.
-
Experience on hardware setup with specific microphones, speakers, and acoustic measurement tools.

Deep knowledge of Audio pipeline, Signal Processing, Audio Codec, formats, and Noise Cancellation

Good knowledge of Audio frameworks like ALSA, Xtensa, etc.
-
Experience in debugging with JTAG or probe or Signal Analyzers etc.
-
Practical experience in minicom and adb shell.
-
Should know about validation of presentation engines (including lipsync)

Hands-on experience with tools like gst-launch or ffplay.

Familiar with audio pipelines.

Familiar with AV Sync test cases.
-
Basic ‘pytest’ scripting experience with respect to end-points.

Comfortable to work in the Linux Environment.

Ability to analyze and measure decode/encode time on a frame-by-frame basis.

Prepare detailed validation plans of the consumer electronic products (devices) by considering regular and corner end-consumer scenarios.
Good to Have Technical Skills:
-
Understanding complex I/O protocols like Ethernet/Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DHCP, USB, etc. is a plus.

SoX(Sound Exchange)/Audio-Middleware(Wwise).
-
Dolby certification tests
-
YOCTO project experience.
