Safeguard product integrity across a commercial bakery producing certified goods (USDA Organic, OU Kosher, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, Rainforest Alliance).

Champion an SQF-ready site and ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR, DATCP, and customer standards.

Develop people and processes—leading 8 Quality professionals and overseeing a 21-person Sanitation team.
Reports to: Director of Operations

Food Safety Plan ownership (HACCP/Preventive Controls): hazard analysis, CCP/CP monitoring, verification, continual improvement.

EMP leadership: environmental monitoring strategy, trend analysis, and corrective action.

Allergen management and sanitation verification with robust positive release.

Audit excellence: lead internal/external audits, manage regulatory inspections, and serve as the primary customer/certifier contact.

Cross-functional partnership with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure strong controls, documentation, and risk-based decisions.

Training engine: GMPs, allergens, food defense—driving comprehension and application on the floor.

Performance storytelling: complaints, audit outcomes, and swab trend metrics communicated to senior leadership.

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related—or equivalent experience.

8+ years in FSQA with 5+ years leading teams in manufacturing.

Demonstrated strength in audit management and timely, effective responses.

HACCP, PCQI, and SQF practitioner background strongly desired.

Working mastery of SQF/GFSI, FDA 21 CFR, allergen controls, and EMP best practices.

Analytical, decisive, and persuasive—excellent communicator and trainer; Spanish bilingual a plus.

Hands-on leadership with flexibility to support off-shift training, investigations, and audits.
On-site role with a primarily daytime schedule. Flexibility is required for off-shift needs. You’ll move fluidly between production, warehouse, and sanitation areas—visible, supportive, and accountable.
