Job Description – SQL (Database) Developer

Location: Dubai

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SQL (DB) Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust database solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in complex SQL development, database performance tuning, and working with large-scale enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, tables, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Optimize complex SQL queries for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Manage database security, backup, recovery, and overall health of SQL databases.
• Perform data modeling, schema design, and implement best database practices.
• Collaborate with application development teams to integrate SQL solutions into applications.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and deliver solutions.
• Ensure high availability, data integrity, and efficiency of database systems.
• Work with ETL processes, data migration, and automation tasks.
• Produce documentation including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and technical specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development and database management.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server / MySQL / Oracle (as per company preference).
• Expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Experience in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in database architecture, data modeling, and normalization.
• Familiarity with ETL tools, SSIS, SSRS, or similar technologies (optional but preferred).
• Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting large-scale, high-volume production environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
• Certification in SQL/Database technologies is an advantage.
