Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Developer/Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize our critical data transformation pipelines. The ideal candidate will be an expert in complex SQL engineering, specifically within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery environment, and possess a strong focus on data quality, performance, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced SQL Development: Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation, including extensive use of long Common Table Expression (CTE) chains, window functions, and intricate multi-condition join logic.
• ETL/ELT Pipeline Build: Develop, test, and maintain robust data pipeline transformation logic, ensuring data quality, reliability, and efficient flow from raw source into final data models.
• GCP/BigQuery Expertise: Leverage expertise in Google Cloud Platform services, primarily BigQuery, to manage large datasets, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and debug/analyse code performance within the platform.
• Data Modelling: Collaborate with data architects to implement effective dimensional and relational data models.
• Performance and Assurance: Conduct rigorous code reviews and performance tuning to ensure data solutions are efficient, resilient, and scalable under high load.
• Documentation and Communication: Maintain excellent documentation of data models, transformation logic, and pipeline architecture. Clearly communicate technical complexities and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• SQL Engineering (Expert Level): 5+ years of experience in high-complexity SQL development, focusing on performance optimisation, debugging, and advanced query constructs (CTEs, subqueries, complex join conditions).
• ETL/ELT Experience: Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipeline transformation and loading processes.
• GCP / BigQuery (Strongly Preferred): Demonstrated experience working hands-on with BigQuery for data warehousing and analysis, including familiarity with its architecture, querying syntax, and tools for RCA and code debugging.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for documentation, collaboration, and presenting findings.

Desired Skills (Nice to Have)

• Data Visualisation: Experience developing and maintaining interactive dashboards, particularly using Power BI.
• Tableau: Familiarity or experience with Tableau for visualisation and reporting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹248,802.10 - ₹1,213,715.85 per year
