Job Overview
The Accounts Assistant / Accounts Executive will involve assisting with daily accounting functions, processing transactions, managing invoices and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Support:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and reports.
- Process and post journal entries into the accounting system, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Invoice Management:
- Manage incoming invoices, ensuring they are recorded and processed according to company procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices, including checking the terms, quantities and amounts.
- Assist in maintaining records for purchase orders, receipts and other relevant financial documentation.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Assist in the monthly reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Review and match bank deposits and withdrawals, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure timely collection of payments from customers and resolve outstanding AR issues.
- Monitor overdue accounts and assist with follow-up on payments.
Payroll Support:
- Assist with the preparation of payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
Tax Filing & Financial Reporting Assistance:
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, ensuring proper documentation and compliance local tax regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Compile data for financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
- Provide support to senior accountants in the preparation of financial analysis.
Administrative Support:
- Prepare financial data from software and files.
- Assist with general office duties such as preparing reports, handling correspondence and managing financial documents.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve financial and accounting queries.
- Perform any other accounting-related duties as assigned by the senior management team.
Internal Control & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard financial assets and reduce errors.
Technical Skills

Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Experience with accounting software e.g. Tally and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle confidential information.

Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards.

Familiarity with GST & other local tax compliance.

Experience in payroll processing or managing employee benefits.
