Sr. Clinical Materials Handler

The Position:

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Clinical Materials Handler to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates with a proven track record in clinical supply chain operations, inventory management within healthcare, or clinical settings. The Senior Clinical Materials Handler will play a key role in overseeing material handling processes, mentoring junior staff, and driving process improvements to support clinical operations.

(This is a full-time, onsite position based from our South San Francisco office with a schedule of Monday - Friday)

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming reagents, consumables, and other clinical materials, verifying accuracy, quantity, and quality in accordance with purchase orders and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and optimize storage systems for clinical and hazardous materials, maintaining strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality control standards.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials using both manual records and automated systems.
• Utilize NetSuite ERP and related inventory platforms to track, manage, and report material flow, ensuring accurate stock levels and adherence to FIFO practices.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with laboratory, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and proactively address potential delays or constraints.
• Lead inventory audits and physical counts, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Coordinate hazardous waste management, including scheduling pick-ups, signing manifests, and maintaining documentation for audits.
• Support freezer maintenance activities, including manual defrosts and temperature monitoring, ensuring equipment compliance and reliability.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and implementing best practices in material handling and logistics operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supply Chain leadership.

Who You Are:

• Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant coursework or certification (e.g., APICS, CPM) is a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical or healthcare materials handling.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/inventory management software.
• In-depth knowledge of regulations related to clinical materials handling and storage (GCP, GMP, OSHA).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
