Sr. Commercial Underwriter, Comm'l Residential

This organization is expanding its presence and products, creating an opportunity for you to contribute as a Senior Commercial Underwriter within their forward-thinking underwriting team.

This is a hybrid position with some in-office attendance required in Tampa area office.

As a Senior Commercial Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and determining risk levels for commercial residential properties across Florida, including high-risk coastal territories.

Beyond underwriting, youll collaborate with leadership on product and policy development, marketing strategies, and underwriting analysis.

This role also involves building and fostering strong relationships with select wholesale agents to drive the growth of the admitted commercial residential property book.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate risk levels for commercial residential properties, including coastal risks.


• Partner with underwriting leadership on product innovation and strategy.


• Collaborate with a select group of wholesale agents to grow and strengthen the book of business.


• Contribute to policy development, marketing strategies, and risk analysis.


• Train, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.


• Travel within Florida as needed, to strengthen client and agent relationships.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience underwriting commercial residential properties.


• Strong knowledge of risks in coastal territories is preferred.


• Bachelors degree and/or insurance designations such as AIM, AINS, AU, AIC, ARM, or CPCU (preferred).


• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to engage with internal teams and wholesale agents effectively.


• Proven ability to mentor and lead team members toward achieving organizational goals.
