Job Summary
The Senior Dietitian is responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing therapeutic and preventive nutrition services for inpatients and outpatients. The role involves clinical diet planning, patient counseling, supervision of junior dietitians, coordination with doctors and nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with hospital nutrition standards.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hospital experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess nutritional status of patients and develop individualized diet plans as per medical condition.
- Provide specialized diet counseling for OPD and IPD patients (ICU, CCU, wards).
- Coordinate with treating consultants, nursing staff, and kitchen services for diet implementation.
- Supervise and guide junior dietitians, diet assistants, and kitchen staff.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, hygiene, and safety standards in the hospital kitchen.
- Review and modify diet plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and attendants on disease-specific diets and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate diet records, counseling notes, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards related to nutrition services.
- Participate in clinical rounds, audits, and quality improvement programs.
- Conduct nutrition awareness programs, workshops, and staff training sessions.
- Assist management in menu planning and cost control without compromising quality.
