Sr Employee Relations & Absence Management Analyst

Role Overview: What
You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented problem solver to join our team in a true multidisciplinary HR role in the Atlanta area. This position primarily focuses on Employee Relations, while also supporting key compliance areas such as leave administration, unemployment, and workers compensation.

You will handle a wide range of workplace matters, helping ensure fair and consistent application of company policies while supporting a positive employee experience. We are looking for someone with sound judgment, strong decision-making skills, and a genuine interest in growing within the HR field.

Reporting to the HR Compliance Manager, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams across the organization. You will use digital tools and practical solutions to deliver efficient, high quality HR support to multiple business units.
Responsibilities:
Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Employee Relations Issue Resolution
  • Conduct impartial investigations into workplace concerns, including performance issues, policy violations, interpersonal conflicts, and allegations of misconduct.
  • Documenting investigative findings and maintaining accurate case records.
  • Ensure timely progression and closure for investigations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners including Legal, Labor Relations, Security, and Global Security Investigations to address employee matters and develop proactive strategies.
  • Analyzing ER data to identify trends and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support team and organizational goals

Leave Administration & Employee Support
  • Assist managers and associates with Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), state leave programs, and related absence inquiries.
  • Review file notes and clearly explain leave policies, processes, and next steps to employees and managers.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related to leave requests, documentation, and eligibility.

Other Job Functions

Direct, hands-on experience managing:

  • Workers’ Compensation claims and vendor relationships
  • Unemployment claims, disputes and employer responses for multi-state jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
What You Bring to the Table: Education and Experience
We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:
  • 3-5+ years of employee relations or HR generalist experience, preferably in a shared services or multi-site environment
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and supporting involuntary terminations.
  • Familiarity with ADP or other HRIS platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • High degree of discretion, judgement, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in facilitation, presentation, and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle data.

The Extras We Value (Preferred Requirements)
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR regulations, including Title VII, ADA, Workers Compensation, Unemployment, and the FMLA.
  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Experience driving clarity in ambiguous situations.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly in person and via phone or video
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 to 15 pounds occasionally, such as files or office supplies
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus for computer screens and documents

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The yearly salary for this role ranges from $85,000/Yr. to $100,000/Yr., depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
