Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer, Planning provides expert-level planning and scheduling services critical to the company's success. Based either at HQ or on a project, this role leads the development of competitive, resource-loaded tender schedules (HQ role) or manages the project baseline schedule to ensure successful execution (Project role). The position is accountable for monitoring progress, analyzing deviations, providing robust delay analysis for Extension of Time (EOT).

Schedule Development & Management

  • Lead the preparation of comprehensive, resource-loaded, and cost-loaded schedules, focusing on Tender Schedules (HQ role) or Project Baseline Schedules (Project role), ensuring full alignment with project scope and strategy.
  • Develop and integrate logical work sequences and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for all project disciplines.

Project Monitoring & Control

  • Proactively monitor progress against the baseline, identify, analyse, and report schedule deviations, and recommend corrective actions or work-around solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain Look-Ahead Schedules and Action Plans, leading weekly meetings to highlight delay risks and ensure accountability for mitigation actions.

Delay Analysis & Claims Support

  • In a Project role, implement standard delay analysis methodologies (e.g., Time Impact Analysis) to support the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Rigorously review project documentation to identify and substantiate delay events (Project role) or to identify risks and assumptions for a bid (HQ role).

Systems & Stakeholder Support

  • Ensure all project controls data (WBS, CBS, budgets, schedules) is accurately set up and maintained in EPM/EPPM for either tender proposals or active projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for schedule-related matters, liaising with tendering teams (HQ role) or project teams, clients, and consultants (Project role).
  • In an HQ role, act as a subject matter expert (SME) by deploying on short-term assignments to project(s) providing targeted support during critical project phases or to help implement new procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Civil or relevant degree related to project management and/or construction is required
  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience
