Responsibilities

The Project Senior Risk Engineer is an experienced technical expert responsible for providing leadership in the execution of the project's risk management program. This role leads complex quantitative analyses, facilitates high-level risk workshops, and ensures the quality and integrity of all risk data. The Senior Risk Engineer acts as a key technical advisor on risk matters and is responsible for mentoring junior engineers, ensuring the consistent application of best practices across the team.

  • Lead the execution of complex qualitative and quantitative risk analyses (QSRA/QCRA) for critical project areas.
  • Plan and facilitate risk identification, assessment, and review workshops with senior project personnel and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the maintenance and quality control of the project risk register, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Develop, evaluate, and champion the implementation of effective risk mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Monitor and measure the performance of mitigation actions and report on their effectiveness to project management.
  • Prepare and present detailed risk reports, analyses, and briefings to project management, translating complex data into clear business insights.
  • Interface with project controls functions to ensure alignment between risk analysis outputs and project forecasts.
  • This role has no direct people management responsibilities.
  • Provide technical supervision, mentorship, and quality oversight for Junior and Project Risk Engineers.
  • Oversee the quality and integrity of the project risk register, ensuring team adherence to established procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Experience:

  • Overall Project Risk Management: 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Large-scale Projects (>SAR 1 billion): A minimum of 3-4 years of significant experience on.
  • Main Contractor: A minimum of 3 years of experience working directly for a main contractor in an EPC or EPCM environment is preferred.
