The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,275-$174,000 + bonus and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The Senior Enterprise Analyst serves as a strategic partner supporting Payroll and Time & Absence Management functions within Workday. This role is responsible for managing, optimizing, and enhancing payroll processes to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep Workday Payroll expertise and collaborates closely with Payroll, HR Operations, Benefits, Finance, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

Partner with Payroll and HR teams to align Workday solutions with business objectives and compliance requirements.

Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll processes and systems, documenting workflows and acting as a trusted advisor.

Translate payroll and timekeeping business needs into scalable technology solutions.

Support mergers and acquisitions by enabling seamless payroll system integrations, data migration, and process alignment across entities.

Gather, analyze, and document payroll and Time & Absence requirements.

Identify process improvement opportunities and conduct gap analysis to support automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Support the development and execution of the Payroll and Time & Absence technology roadmap.

Manage payroll-related system enhancements, integrations, and Workday releases.

Support payroll-related projects and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Collaborate with project teams to balance business priorities with enterprise standards.

Lead payroll system integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions, ensuring continuity, compliance, and minimal operational disruption.

Manage day-to-day operations of Workday Payroll and Time & Absence modules.

Configure and maintain payroll processes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and compliance rules.

Ensure accurate payroll processing, including regular, off-cycle, and year-end payroll runs.

Troubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues in a timely manner.

Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and testing cycles.

Perform system configurations, data loads (EIBs), and validations.

Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure payroll data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and validations.

Develop and maintain payroll reports and dashboards.

Support regulatory and compliance reporting, including tax and wage reporting requirements.

Work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers, including tax and payroll interface partners.

Provide regular updates to leadership on payroll system performance, risks, and initiatives.

Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.

Support internal and external audits and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation for payroll processes, configurations, and controls.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

8+ years of progressively responsible experience in payroll systems, HRIS, or enterprise applications.

Deep hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and Time & Absence modules.

Strong expertise in payroll configuration, processing, and reporting.
-
Proven experience serving as a Senior Business Analyst supporting Workday implementations and ongoing operations.

Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and industry best practices.

Experience with system integrations and data migration.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Advanced degree preferred.

Workday Payroll certification.

Experience supporting multi-state and/or global payroll operations.

Experience with payroll integrations involving tax vendors and third-party providers.
