Triton Claim Management, LLC is seeking an experienced Liability Claims Adjuster to manage a diverse portfolio of general liability claims. This role is responsible for the end-to-end handling of claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, negotiation, and resolution.
You will handle a mix of litigated and non-litigated claims across multiple exposure types, including premises liability, liquor liability, construction/contractual liability, hired/non-owned auto liability, product liability, and third-party property damage.
Claim Management

Manage a pending of liability claims from initial notice through final resolution

Maintain effective diary management and litigation calendars to ensure timely handling

Document claim activity thoroughly and maintain accurate, organized claim files
Coverage & Investigation

Analyze and interpret policy language to determine coverage and draft coverage position letters (e.g., Reservation of Rights, Disclaimer)

Conduct comprehensive investigations, including communication with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and third parties

Obtain and evaluate relevant documentation such as contracts, lease agreements, medical records, and claim reports
Evaluation & Reserving

Assess liability and damages, including bodily injury and property damage exposure

Establish and maintain appropriate loss and expense reserves, securing required authority from carriers/clients
Litigation & Resolution

Manage complex, serious injury, attorney-represented, and litigated files
-
Direct defense counsel to ensure cost-effective and timely resolution, including oversight of pleadings, discovery, and motion practice

Negotiate settlements, attend mediations (virtual or in-person), and facilitate settlement conferences
Risk Transfer & Compliance

Identify and pursue risk transfer opportunities, including tenders, subrogation, and contractual indemnity

Evaluate Additional Insured and Other Insurance provisions

Ensure compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, and best practices
Reporting & Communication

Provide timely updates to clients and carriers, including large loss reporting and claim reviews

Issue underwriting alerts where appropriate and communicate emerging claim trends
Required

Minimum 8+ years of liability claims handling experience, including:

Coverage analysis

Investigation and evaluation

Negotiation and settlement

Experience handling litigated and complex claims

Strong understanding of general liability exposures and claims processes
Preferred

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Active Adjuster License (NY preferred; additional states a plus)

Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing liability claims

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of organization, accuracy, and professionalism

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Full-time remote position

Occasional in-person meetings at Triton offices (Midtown NYC, Atlanta, GA, or West Palm Beach, FL)
