What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Human Resource (HR) Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. The HR Manager will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the policies, HR activities for Oka Brands, ensuring legal compliance and implementation aligned with the organization’s mission and talent strategy. HR Manager duties will involve managing activities such as leading HR strategy, employee relations, talent management and overseeing and enforcing health & safety program, including training, compliance with regulations (OSHA) and fostering a strong safety culture. The HR Manager will take the lead in ensuring Oka Brands continues to be a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals; provide HR consultancy and guidance to leadership.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding; manage the employer brand.
  • Employee Relations: Handle complex employee issues, grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions; foster a positive work culture.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Develop and manage competitive pay, benefits, and reward programs.
  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies; maintain HR records and procedures.
  • HR Operations: Monitor key metrics (turnover, cost-per-hire) and optimize HR systems/technology (ATS-applicant tracking system, payroll).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in humans resources, business management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations and best practices
  • Excellent employee management skills, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Proven hands-on experience with using digital HR tools and software (PayCom-preferred, ADP, Paycor, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound knowledge of legal policies and federal and state labor laws for HR
  • Complete understanding and familiarity with human resource management software and tools like application tracking systems, payroll management systems and talent acquisition tools
  • Sound knowledge of employee benefits and compensation plans
  • Handle employee complaints and address them with unique strategies and solutions
