The Sr. Human Resource Generalist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource practices and processes within the UWH of Pennsylvania market. This role involves managing activities such as payroll, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training & development, benefits administration, policy implementation and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The Sr. HR Generalist provides support and guidance to employees, managers, and leaders across the organization.
· Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day of the HR operations of UWH of Pennsylvania.
· Support a seamless onboarding of employees following mergers and acquisitions of care centers.
· Develops, implements, maintains and updates Employee Handbook and Practice policies to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
· Provide guidance and on-going training to department supervisors/managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and legal compliance across departments.
· Provide recommendations with involuntary employee terminations to ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards and best practices.
· Work in partnership with managers/supervisors to effectively investigate and resolve employee complaints and concerns.
· Administer benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, 401K plan and answers employee benefit-related questions.
· Coordinate, execute and manage all activities related to annual benefits open enrollment, including planning timelines, drafting communications, and scheduling employee information sessions.
· Partner with hiring managers to coordinate all phases of the recruitment process—including job postings, background checks, and drug screenings—ensuring compliant, timely, and effective hiring outcomes.
· Responsible for the recruitment process of the Erie location to facilitate hiring qualified job applicants - including job postings, interviewing, reference checks, offer letters, background checks, and drug screenings.
· Conduct orientation sessions with new employees.
· Oversee and assign mandatory compliance training programs, including onboarding modules for new employees and recurring annual trainings for existing staff.
· Collaborates with the company’s Compliance Department to ensure prompt reporting and resolution of HIPAA-related concerns or violations.
· Administer and manage employee leaves of absence (e.g., personal leave, medical, military, FMLA, ADA) ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and policies.
· Maintain HRIS systems and employee records in compliance with legal and company standards.
· Jointly manage a bi-weekly payroll process to ensure accurate and timely compensation for all employees.
· Prepare and submit the annual EEO-1 report in compliance with federal reporting requirements.
· Responsible for the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
· Investigates all unemployment compensation and worker’s compensation claims and timely prepares and responds to all mandatory filings and requests for information required by the state.
· Responds to all verification of employment requests for current and past employees.
· Maintains reported work related- injuries and illnesses on OSHA Log 300.
· Play a key role in improving HR workflows and processes within UWH of Pennsylvania market in collaboration with broader HR team and key partners.
· Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
· Performs other duties as required or directed.
Schedule: This job is expected to work 30 to 32 hours per week. Core Hours 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Qualifications & Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
· Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus.
· Proven working experience as HR Manager role (typically 5+ years).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP).
Work Environment:
May require occasional travel.
· This position operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
Physical Demands:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment.
· Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching during meetings or file retrieval.
· Visual acuity to read and prepare documents and reports, both printed and digital.
· Clear verbal communication abilities for phone and in-person conversations.
· Occasional travel for meetings, and training.
Pay: $78,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
