Sr. Internal Audit Specialist

The Ideal Candidate shall execute complex and non-standard audit tests, perform detailed data analysis, and meticulously document findings to support the audit engagement, acting as a subject matter expert for specific processes or systems.

Responsibilities:

• Execute complex and non-standard audit tests as assigned by the Audit Lead, requiring advanced analytical skills.
• Perform detailed data analysis and use data extraction tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, SQL) to identify exceptions and trends.
• Conduct interviews with process owners and staff to gain a deep understanding of complex processes and controls.
• Prepare high-quality, detailed, and clear audit work papers that document complex tests, analyses, and conclusions.
• Assist the Audit Lead in the design of specialized audit tests and data analysis routines.
• Identify, analyze, and document complex audit findings, including performing root cause analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior Audit Specialists and Officers.
• Maintain and manage all evidence and documentation for assigned audit areas with a high degree of organization.
• Assist in the development of risk and control matrices for complex business processes.
• Communicate audit results and findings for assigned areas to the Audit Lead in a clear and concise manner.
• Support special projects and internal investigations by performing detailed evidence gathering and analysis.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in their area of specialty (e.g., IT, Finance).
• Assist in the validation of management's remediation for complex audit findings.
• Proactively identify opportunities to use data analytics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit.
• Ensure all work is performed with the highest level of professional skepticism and objectivity.

Qualification:

• Minimum 3 years of experience performing internal audit fieldwork and testing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certification is preferred (e.g., in accounting software).
