The Senior Manager Demand Planning is responsible for deploying and maintaining business processes and systems that develop a consolidated view of enterprise level demand while taking into consideration annual sales budgets, promotion plans, seasonality, and pricing elasticity all while optimizing forecast accuracy, reducing forecasting bias, improving service / fill rate metrics, improving inventory dollars, and turns for the corporation.

Responsibilities

Develop demand management capabilities to produce a statistical forecast model based on product type/segmentation

  • Lead planners and steward the demand planning process to enable features such as ramp up of new product introduction, ramp down of end-of-life products and demand changes due to product promotions
  • Collaborate with sales leaders, product management and marketing to gather market specific requirements and develop a consensus-based forecast using statistical forecast as the baseline
  • Interacts with Distribution Centers or other customers on significant changes in demand, special request, large orders, local initiatives, and analyze impact on current inventory levels
  • Lead, develop, a groom a team of demand planners in best practices of supply chain, demand planning, and supply planning.
  • Enable manual and system driven optimum forecasting of seasonality, promotions, and product life cycle.
  • Drive executive monthly demand planning process as key member of executive SIOP monthly review
  • Ensure demand plan alignment across the portfolio to maximize sales and margins and to achieve targeted levels in support of overall product availability and company profitability.
  • Run a monthly demand management cadence to project a 6 quarter forward looking rolling demand outlook at the company, customer, and product line level – with SKU level detail, with historical refences back 3+ years
  • Works closely with supply planning, global sourcing, domestic sourcing, and logistics to identify and incorporate supply and logistics constraints into the demand models
  • Enable ERP systems to produce an unconstrained and capacity constrained model based on rolling 6 quarter demand outlook.
  • Converge the demand and constrained supply models together and work with finance, sales, and business unit leadership to present a 6 quarter forward looking revenue plan
  • Utilizes Demand Planning Systems in conjunction with SAP /APO/ MRP system along with analytical reporting to continually improve statistical forecast accuracy, as well as adapting to additional programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or related field. Advanced degree helpful

Ideal candidates will be individuals with considerable influencing and sophisticated leadership skills whose previous experience includes:

  • 8 (+) years performing in a management position with experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and supply chain
  • Highly experienced at SIOP / S&OP business management processes 8 (+) years
  • Demonstrated experience using sophisticated Demand Forecasting (Blue Yonder / JDA, SAP-IBP, Netstock/ DemandWorks), Planning, and MRP/ERP system (SAP ECC and SAP APO)
  • Expertise in the development and use of forecast effectiveness analytics – forecast accuracy, bias, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve problems or take advantage of opportunities.
  • Excellent managerial skills. Demonstrated experience managing multiple team projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong proficient Microsoft Office skills.
  • Tier1 ERP (ORACLE, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Demand management systems (DemandWorks / Netstock, Demantra, SAP / IBP, SAP APO, Blue Yonder / JDA)
  • Data Analytics Tool – PowerBI, Tableau, SAP BOBJ
  • Professional certification (IBF, ASCM, APICS, CSCMP, ISM, IIBA)
