POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Manufacturing Systems Analyst is responsible for the ownership, optimization, and strategic alignment of manufacturing systems across operations. This role serves as the technical authority for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP integration, and business intelligence platforms, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and scalable architecture. This position bridges operations, IT, and engineering to support 24/7 manufacturing environments, resolve production-impacting system issues, and drive long-term system improvements. The role is critical in enabling accurate reporting, standardized processes, and cross-site alignment while maintaining operational continuity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Own and manage the full lifecycle of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including system performance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Ensure MES system stability and reliability in a 24/7 production environment.
Lead resolution of production-impacting system issues, including root cause analysis across MES, SQL, and integrated systems.
Manage MES configurations, including inspections, routing alignment, and process flows.
Oversee integration between MES and ERP systems (SAP), ensuring data synchronization and system integrity.
Support system changes including material transitions, routing updates, and controlled production cutovers.
Develop and maintain business intelligence and reporting infrastructure, including Power BI datasets and dashboards.
Establish and standardize key performance indicators (KPIs), including scrap, downtime, and OEE.
Ensure accuracy, reliability, and usability of production data and reporting systems.
Define and implement data governance standards and traceability frameworks.
Drive system architecture improvements to support scalability and long-term operational efficiency.
Support cross-site system alignment and standardization efforts between Nevada and Kansas operations.
Provide training and guidance to supervisors and stakeholders on system usage and data interpretation.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT, and leadership teams to align system capabilities with production needs.
Support deployment and scaling of manufacturing systems across current and future sites.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in system improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Support external vendor engagement (e.g., MES providers) as needed.
Contribute to development and cross-training of internal team members on MES and reporting systems.
Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.
Travel to H&T Kansas and other locations is required to support system implementation, stabilization, and cross-site standardization efforts.
Travel will be scheduled based on business needs and may include multi-day trips.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, preferred.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing systems, MES, ERP integration, or related technical roles.
Strong experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g., Infor MES) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Experience with business intelligence tools, preferably Power BI.
Knowledge of SQL, data structures, and system integration concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues.
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with data governance, reporting frameworks, and system architecture design is preferred.
