The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in the research and development team, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of complex medical devices, materials, and combination products from conception through manufacturing transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design fabrication & analysis of complex patient connected therapeutic systems, assemblies & components using CAD and simulation tools.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other design staff
- Collaborate with electrical, software, systems and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless product development experience.
- Develop prototype components, systems & sub systems, conduct testing & analysis.
- Drive design & phase gate reviews & root cause analysis.
- Ensure designs comply with design requirements, regulatory standards like (ISO13485), and the Therakos quality system
- Manage multiple projects balancing technical priorities, timelines & budgets.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations for internal & external stakeholders.
Education & Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical engineering (Masters Preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven and significant expertise in CAD/solid modelling (Solidworks or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of materials & fabrication/manufacturing/injection moulding technologies
- Experience with FEA, CFD or other engineering simulation tools.
- Experience in working in a regulated design environment leveraging design methodology standards (ISO 13485, MDR, ASE, AS9100 as an example)
- Ability to work independently, analyse data rigorously and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
