Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Supervision)

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Supervision) based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will oversee day-to-day activities, including leading engineering supervision, ensuring adherence to standards, and coordinating with clients and project teams. Key tasks include supervising mechanical design and installation, performing quality control inspections, reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, chilled water, etc.).
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical and execution issues.
• Review mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Verify compliance with international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.) and local authority requirements (DEWA, DM, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Evaluate and recommend solutions for design changes or site modifications.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and start-up of mechanical systems.
• Ensure systems are fully functional and meet project performance requirements prior to handover.
• Monitor quality control checks and maintain records of all inspections and tests.
• Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with safety standards and quality benchmarks.
• Identify deficiencies or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all works comply with environmental and sustainability requirements.
• Support project managers in scheduling and monitoring mechanical activities.
• Track progress against the project timeline and escalate any delays or issues.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and highlight issues, risks, and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of site activities, inspections, and approvals.
• Provide input for monthly progress reports and client updates.
• Guide junior engineers and site inspectors, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across the site team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering with at least 5 years in site supervision of large-scale building projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related mechanical systems.
• Proven experience in testing & commissioning, project execution, and handover.
• Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, BS, etc.) and UAE authority regulations (DEWA, DM, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering software (e.g., HAP, PipeFlow, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED16,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
