Senior Plumbing Engineer
As a Senior Plumbing Engineer in an electro mechanical contracting company, your responsibilities would typically include:
1. Design & Engineering
- Develop detailed plumbing system designs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and firefighting systems.
- Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards (IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.) and regulations.
- Select appropriate pipes, fittings, pumps, valves, and fixtures for the project.
- Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, and civil engineers to avoid clashes and ensure integration.
2. Project Execution & Site Supervision
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure installations match approved drawings and standards.
- Address any technical issues that arise during construction.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth execution.
3. Procurement & Cost Control
- Assist in BOQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation and material selection.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and assist in material procurement.
- Work with the commercial team to ensure project cost control and budget management.
4. Testing & Commissioning
- Oversee pressure testing, leakage checks, and system balancing.
- Ensure systems meet functional requirements before handing over to the client.
- Prepare test reports and as built drawings.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, RFIs (Requests for Information), and progress reports.
- Attend meetings with consultants, clients, and contractors.
