Job Title:
Senior Manager – MEP (Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing) suitable for EPC, manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, and large infrastructure projects.
Job Summary:
TThe Senior Manager – MEP is responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and control of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities for projects. The role ensures that MEP systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, statutory regulations, safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
· 1. Planning & Design Coordination
Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, BOQs, technical submittals, and specifications.
Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural, and civil teams to resolve design clashes.
Ensure value engineering without compromising quality, safety, and functionality.
Finalize equipment selection and technical parameters.
2. Project Execution & Site Management
Lead execution of MEP works (HVAC, electrical, firefighting, plumbing, ELV systems).
Monitor site progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors for smooth execution.
Ensure proper manpower deployment and resource utilization at site.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure all MEP works comply with approved drawings, codes, and standards (NBC, IS, IEC, NEC, CPWD, local authority norms).
Implement QA/QC procedures, inspections, testing, and commissioning plans.
Resolve technical issues and site challenges promptly.
4. Safety & Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with EHS policies and statutory safety norms.
Coordinate with safety team to conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and audits.
Ensure necessary approvals, inspections, and certifications from authorities.
5. Cost Control & Budget Management
Monitor project budgets, control costs, and track variations and claims.
Review contractor bills, measurements, and certifications.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and prevent cost overruns.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Plan and supervise testing, commissioning, and performance validation of MEP systems.
Ensure preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.
Coordinate smooth project handover to operations/facility management teams.
7. Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and mentor MEP engineers and site teams.
Conduct performance reviews and provide technical guidance.
Coordinate with internal departments and senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (preferred)
Additional certifications in MEP / HVAC / Project Management are an advantage
Experience:
· Minimum 12–17 years of relevant MEP experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in handling large-scale projects independently
Skills & Competencies:
·Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, and ELV systems
Project planning and execution expertise
Cost control and contract management skills
Knowledge of statutory codes and local regulations
Leadership, communication, and coordination skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, and MS Office
