Job Title-

Sr. Purchase Engineer

Job Description-

· Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for raw materials, fabricated parts, bought-out components, and engineering equipment.

· Prepare RFQs, evaluate and compare quotations technically and commercially, and negotiate payment terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

· Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.

· To monitor market trends and prevailing material rates, to ensure cost optimization.

· Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations, and resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or documentation.

· To conduct technical review of engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to identify procurement requirements.

· Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased items meet technical and compliance standards.

· Drive cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and bulk negotiations.

· Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time to meet project timelines.

· Monitor quality certificates, test reports, and compliance documents (e.g., MTCs, inspection reports, statutory documents).

· Maintain purchase records, order tracking logs, and supplier databases.

· Ensure adherence to procurement procedures, ISO/QMS documentation, and contract terms.

· Coordinate logistics, transportation, and follow-up to ensure smooth material flow.

Work Experience-

· The candidate must be a graduate in Mechanical Engineering.

· Must possess 2–6 years of experience in procurement or purchase engineering, preferably in process equipment, fabrication, EPC, or industrial machinery sectors.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes: fabrication, machining, welding, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

· Strong negotiation and communication skills
