Sr. QA/QC Engineer

Job Title: Senior QA/QC Engineer (High-Rise Building Project)

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities for high-rise building projects comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, international standards, and client requirements. The role involves implementing quality assurance and quality control systems, managing inspections, and ensuring timely resolution of quality issues across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
• Ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and applicable standards (ISO, ASTM, BS, etc.).
• Monitor and control all QA/QC activities on-site for structural, architectural, and MEP works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to quality procedures.

Documentation & Compliance

• Review and approve material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, and test results.
• Coordinate with consultants and client representatives for approvals and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, or other relevant authority requirements.

Inspection & Testing

• Supervise and witness all site inspections and material testing.
• Ensure all materials used are approved and meet project specifications.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for testing and certification.
• Track and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.

Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Conduct quality meetings and toolbox talks related to QA/QC.
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports for management.
• Provide technical guidance and training to QA/QC engineers and inspectors.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify areas for quality improvement and implement corrective/preventive measures.
• Ensure lessons learned are documented and applied throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote a quality culture across the project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Lead Implementer preferred.
• Additional certifications in QA/QC or construction quality management are an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in QA/QC in construction.
• At least 5 years in high-rise building projects in the UAE.
• Strong experience with concrete works, finishing, façade systems, and MEP coordination.
• Proven experience working with major contractors or developers in Dubai.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, standards, and regulations in UAE.
• Familiarity with Dubai authority requirements and approval processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
