Sr. Quantity Surveyor - Interior Fit Out

Job Description / Role

Handling major turnkey Interior Fit out projects; pre-tenders, assisting in negotiations, involvement in pre & post commercial issues, setting budgets, cost reports and contract negotiations, Contract awarding and Tender Negotiations. Manage the commercial aspects of the company. Handle all pre and post contract activities. Utilize experience and contacts within the fit out industry to aid in business development to spearhead the growth and forward momentum of the company. Aware of ALL local authorities procedures to obtain NOC's and building permits for projects.

Follow up on submitted payment applications with clients. Prepare and issue invoices according to progress and payment terms. Prepare and submit monthly invoices log. Prepare payment tracker for each project. Follow up on payment collection. Tracking project actual costs during execution and forecasting cost at completion by collection data from concerned departments. Prepare projects commercial status reports. Prepare Projects turnover. Provide risk analysis data for commercial risks for ongoing projects and forecast projects. Prepare budget vs cost deviation report. Prepare commercial weekly report. Initially prepare Management monthly report. Contracting and/or manufacturing work experience as a quantity surveyor / cost controller knowledge in financial and accounting terminology and procedures. Experience in using ERP software applications. Experience in using Microsoft office applications especially MS Word , excel and Power Point. Knowledge in reading and understanding construction contracts like but not limited to FIDIC , with an emphasis on commercial and financial part such as payment terms , invoicing cycles etc. Knowledge in contractual commercial documents like but not limited to: BOQ , payment application, payment certificate etc.

Quantity surveying / business administration / project management – or engineer with relevant experience. Minimum 8 to 10 years experience of in Dubai. Any relevant project management or construction management certification is a plus

Requirements:

University qualifications: B.E in Civil / Architect

Other Certification: RICS/ AIQS mandatory.

Previous experience : 8-10 years experience in UAE.

Proven track record in working as a QS/estimator within the UAE.

Demonstrable experience on large scale fit out/joinery projects.

Other Skills : Good communication with excellent leadership skills.
