Job Title: Sr. Radio & Cellular Engineer

Role Overview
The Senior Radio & Cellular Engineer will function as a Level 3/4 Radio Engineer responsible for end-to-end design, integration, deployment, and support of enterprise radio and private cellular systems. This role leads major radio network initiatives, supports Proof of Concepts, troubleshoots system performance, and works hands-on with Motorola LMR systems, IP networking, RF engineering, and cellular infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Radio & Cellular Engineering
Function as a Level 3–4 Radio Engineer for enterprise radio and cellular systems.
Lead and support end-to-end radio system design, integration, validation, and commissioning.
Support TMNA Radio Network initiatives including Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and production deployments.
Troubleshoot audio quality issues, coverage gaps, RF interference, and data service anomalies.
Configure and test repeaters, combiners, antennas, routers, switches, and related IP network hardware.
Provide hands-on execution of small to large strategic and tactical Private Cellular projects.
Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new radio solutions and technologies.
Project & Vendor Management
Act as a point of escalation for project execution and operational issues.
Lead weekly project status meetings and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Participate in vendor and solution selection processes.
Coordinate resources, track execution, and validate new deployments, upgrades, and expansions.
Engage with vendors and manufacturer technical support centers for rapid issue resolution.
Field Engineering & Deployment
Conduct site surveys and develop site plans for complete facility coverage.
Install, test, and maintain Motorola Radio & Cellular systems.
Perform upgrades, patching, software enhancements, and system acceptance testing.
Submit and track Change Management requests for Motorola and cellular systems.
Travel to radio sites as needed for surveys, testing, deployments, validations, and maintenance.
Operational Support & Documentation
Monitor radio and cellular systems for trouble areas; proactively resolve issues and document root cause.
Support service tickets while working on enterprise cellular projects.
Develop and maintain Operational Support Guides, runbooks, and technical documentation.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
8–10 years of professional experience in Radio, RF, and Cellular engineering.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
Expertise in Motorola Radio Systems; strong proficiency with Motorola LMR, DMR, and Trunking systems.
Experience with RF propagation, coverage analysis, and interference mitigation.
Hands-on experience with Motorola tools such as CPS, Radio Management (RM), Tuner, and firmware utilities.
Strong understanding of IP networking including VLANs, QoS, firewalls, and network security.
Solid grasp of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wireless, and network integration concepts.
Experience with analysis/performance tools (Wireshark, iPerf, etc.).
Extensive exposure to Wireless, RF, LTE, and Private Cellular technologies.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
