An Automotive Car Sales Executive sells vehicles by understanding customer needs, demonstrating vehicle features, arranging test drives, negotiating prices, and closing sales. Key responsibilities include lead generation, customer relationship management, handling paperwork, achieving sales targets, and assisting customers with financing options. Essential skills for this role are strong communication, negotiation, customer service, product knowledge, and the ability to build rapport. Core Responsibilities

  • Customer Needs Assessment: Identifying and understanding customer requirements and specifications for a vehicle.
  • Product Demonstration: Explaining vehicle features, capabilities, and accessories, and conducting test drives.
  • Sales Negotiation: Negotiating and agreeing on the final price with customers and completing sales contracts.
  • Lead Generation & Management: Cultivating new leads through prospecting and following up with potential and past customers.
  • Paperwork & Transactions: Assisting customers with paperwork and liaising with the finance department for sales agreements.
  • Sales Targets: Working collaboratively with the team to meet set monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintaining a good rapport with customers to promote repeat business and referrals.
  • Showroom & Logistics: Assisting with showroom setup, vehicle displays, and coordinating vehicle preparation with the service department.

Required Skills

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate product benefits and build customer trust.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide excellent service and build strong, lasting customer relationships.
  • Negotiation: Skill in persuading customers and overcoming objections to close sales.

  • Sales Acumen: Proficiency in identifying customer needs and matching them to suitable vehicle models.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software for managing customer databases and tracking leads.

Typical Work Environment

  • Hours: The role involves a shift rota, often including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Compensation: Typically includes a basic salary supplemented by commission earned on sales.
  • Teamwork: Car sales executives work as part of a sales team under a sales manager, collaborating to achieve dealership goals.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
