Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

SR. SALES REPRESENTATIVE
I. Position Objective
Maximize Specialty PVC domestic sales. Generate new business based on company strategy and maximize business with existing
customers.
II. Major Areas of Accountability
  • Strategic Sales Implementation: Establish strategies for growth, business, and product development. Recommend market strategies and pricing to impact customer product and profitability mix. Quote prices and credit terms; initiate and negotiate sales contracts; secure sales orders and finalize contracts.
  • Sales Prospecting: Collaborate with marketing/business development to create, recommend and implement new sales strategic plans and tactics. Develop pre-contract plan, contact decision maker and initiate sales process.
  • Customer Contacts and Relationships: Develop and sustain consistently high-quality customer contacts and relationships. Facilitate, collaborate, and coordinate with aligned internal company contacts to implement and reinforce external customer expectations, commitments, and Formosa Branding.
  • Marketing and Technical Support: Develop pricing, competitive sales and marketing planning and actions. Coordinate with Technical Service to provide ongoing technical support to customers, including the resolution of product quality complaints, to facilitate and achieve sales goal.
  • Non-prime Sales: Help deplete non-prime inventory based on marketing strategy for each month.
III. Qualifications

  • Education (Minimal Education Needed)
  • Bachelors degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; three years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PC skills required: Microsoft windows, Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook

  • Previous Related Experience
10 years minimum experience in marketing and/or sales position.

  • Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
  • Must be an excellent communicator and skilled in English verbal comprehension and report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with plastics industry and technical processes and terminology.
Ability to find solutions to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read critically and comprehend economic, related industry and market,
information and publications.
  • CRM experience.
  • Other Certification/Training to Gain Function-Related Business Knowledge
Continuous education in leading-edge marketing and polyolefins product development sales trends. Membership in professional associations is a plus. Direct involvement in market-focused organizations (Examples: ACC, TAPPI, IOPP, PPFA, and PPI).

  • Other Requirements (Physical/Mental Demand, Schedule/Hours, Travel)
Frequent travel; irregular schedule. Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required. Must perform all duties to the same standards while traveling as would be expected in the office.
