Sr. Software Engineer

Technical Skills:

Strong Java back-end expertise and Android mobile app experience.

Android Development Expertise: Advanced knowledge of both Java and Kotlin, with a focus on modernizing legacy Java codebases to Kotlin-first approaches. Practical experience with AndroidX libraries and Jetpack components, including LiveData, ViewModels, and Navigation components.

Dependency and API Management: Proficiency in managing dependencies through Gradle and replacing outdated libraries like the Support Library with AndroidX equivalents. Experience handling updated HTTP clients such as OkHttp and transitioning from deprecated libraries like Apache HTTP.

Modern Android Practices: Familiarity with asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines or Flow for efficient and maintainable background tasks. Expertise in API level-specific compatibility handling, ensuring app functionality across modern Android devices and versions.

Mobile app architecture MVVM experience.

CI/CD (such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab or similar tools).

Unit Testing: JUnit, Mocking (mockito), or similar tools. TDD experience, implementing unit test code for critical components, developing UI tests for key user journeys to ensure consistent functionality, establishing automated testing processes for future development.

E2E Testing: Cucumber (preferred).

Security: Deep understanding of security best practices, including secure coding, encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

Cloud Infra: AWS is preferred

Familiarity with App Store and Google Play submission requirements to ensure compliance with platform guidelines.
