Summary
The Senior Sourcing Manager leads strategic sourcing initiatives for the organization with a primary focus on identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers while diversifying the supplier base for single-sourced products as required. This role serves as the primary sourcing representative for company-wide initiatives and projects, developing and executing sourcing strategies that support organizational objectives in risk management, cost-effectiveness, and supply performance. The Senior Sourcing Manager directly supervises the procurement team, providing leadership, mentorship, and development to ensure operational excellence and build sourcing expertise throughout the function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead supplier discovery and qualification efforts to identify and onboard new suppliers that meet quality, cost, delivery, and service requirements for cables, connectors, and other interconnect components manufacturing in the Aerospace & Defense industry.

Develop and execute diversification strategies to reduce single-source supplier dependencies and mitigate risks across critical product categories.

Manage end-to-end sourcing projects including market analysis, request for (RFx) processes, supplier negotiations, contract development, and supplier transition planning & execution.

Serve as the primary sourcing representative and subject matter expert for cross-functional and company-wide strategic initiatives.

Use supplier scorecards and KPIs to evaluate performance and drive improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and service measures.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve optimal costs while meeting performance requirements.

Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Product Management to define material, quality, and service requirements for suppliers.

Perform supplier market intelligence, including benchmarking, trend analysis, and commodity price monitoring to anticipate market fluctuations and influence sourcing decisions.

Build well-rounded sourcing capabilities within the team by performing the full-range of management responsibilities including, but not limited to hiring, training, coaching/mentoring, performance management, and experimental development.
- Implement and optimize sourcing processes using IFS Cloud ERP to drive efficiency, improve data accuracy, and control costs.

Build and manage supplier relationships aligned with company values and strategic objectives.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required.

7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, including supplier identification, qualification, and development.

3-5 years of leadership experience with direct people-management responsibilities.

Experience in manufacturing, preferably in Aerospace & Defense, electronics, or specialty manufacturing; knowledge of related standards, quality requirements, and compliance considerations preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost management.

Proven track record of leading successful sourcing projects from strategy development through implementation.

Experience with supplier risk management, diversification initiatives, and supply base optimization.

Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; IFS Cloud or similar enterprise platforms preferred.

Knowledge of Aerospace & Defense industry standards, quality requirements, and compliance considerations preferred.

Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), or similar credentials are preferred.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with limited exposure to recognized health hazards such as dust and noise. Location: This position is located at the company headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Travel Required: 20-30% travel required for supplier visits, industry events, and sourcing activities.
